Jeremiah tells the people of Judah: Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit (Jeremiah 17:7,8 NIV)
The people of Judah trusted more in false Gods and alliances rather than God. I don’t want to be like that. You see, everything and everyone has a limit. Even in someones best efforts, they get weary or circumstances change their priories; however, God is always awake and we are always His priority.
Lets talk about the word circumstance. It’s just a time, and event, or a condition determining another. So what, it won’t last. Blink your eyes and it has passed. Maybe it takes quite a few blinks but it WILL pass. We cannot let our circumstances over take us. However, during the time we endure it, the only way to get through it all is having the right mind and the right person/people guiding us.
If you were selecting someone to be on your team, to work for you, or even as a life partner, what are some traits you would look for? Reliable, timely, invested, trustworthy, hardworking, consistent, capable, etc….. So why wouldn’t we choose to serve and love the ONLY God who is THIS? Why wouldn’t we rely on the one God who gave us a true savior? He wanted nothing in return. He only wanted us. Keep in mind that “they” say we are a direct reflection of the 5 people we spend the most time with. Obviously aside from our children. Remember my post about “what our friends say about us?” It’s just true.
Your circle will be a great resource in trying times but your GOD will be your deliverer.
So when life is too much to bear and my circumstance or pain is trying to hold me down, I just can’t let it. I can’t because my God ALWAYS lifts me up out of the mud and mire and gives me a firm foundation to stand on. (Psalm 40:2) This is why the heat does’t scare me or burn me.
Praying, knowing God hears me, and believing that He cares so much about every detail of my life. That carries me through and over my circumstance. Then, after that, I look up. My chin never stays down.
No matter what happens or who lets me down, I look up. I learned that its the best view that delivers the best results.
